Backup and restore a database in SQL Server

In SQL Server, you’ll create a backup of a database very easily.

Create a Backup

Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. you’ll see Server Object. (See below image)

When you click on the server object you’ll see Backup device. Right click on the Backup device. you’ll see a picture as follow:

After clicking on “Backup a Database” you’ll get the subsequent page:

Select the database that you would like to make a backup then click on the “ok” button. Here we create a backup for database “tecklearn”.

A new pop-up box are going to be appeared showing that the backup of the database completed successfully.

Restore a Database

In SQL Server, you’ll restore a database very easily. to revive a database right click on the Databases node. you’ll get a image like this:

Click on the restore database.

Enter the database name which you would like to revive and therefore the name of the database where you restore. Here we restore “tecklearn” database into “tecklearn restored”.

click ok

Click on the “ok” button.

A new pop-up box are going to be appeared showing that the restoration of the database completed successfully.

Check the Restored Database

Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and click on on the Databases. you’ll see the restored database “tecklearn restored”.

All tables are reserved within the database because it is.
